Adventures in Africa: Tarangire National Park, Tanzania
Because I had finished on Kilimanjaro early I had two bonus days before I fly to Zanzibar on Saturday. At my hotel in Moshi on Wednesday evening I explored a variety of options, including doing not a whole lot of anything, but I felt very compelled to see more animals, and eventually I negotiated a package with a tour provider who would transport me from Moshi to Arusha on Thursday, take me on a group tour to Tarangire National Park today (Friday), and transport me from Arusha to the Kilimanjaro airport tomorrow morning. I felt like I negotiated hard (arguably the nominally $50 USD airport transfer was being thrown in for "free"), but this still cost me $360 Canadian. That is a lot of money, but it was felt entirely worth it after my visit to Tarangire National Park.
