Adventures in Africa: Nairobi, Kenya

From Amboseli, I had to return to Nairobi yesterday afternoon. I am not too happy about it, because it was a result of my tour company messing up my itinerary and I would have much preferred to go straight across the border from Amboseli into Tanzania than come back to Nairobi first. But, it is what it is.

My tour company put me up in the Decasa Hotel.

The hotel is surely good by African standards, but definitely a downgrade from the Best Western I stayed at two nights ago.

Certainly the neighbourhood around the hotel is much more lively, with lots of traffic, and vendors of all sorts lining the sidewalks. This was the view from my window.

There were also what appear to be impromptu dance parties!

This morning I was picked up from my hotel and driven a short way to the bus station, where I found a seat on the bus which will take me to Arusha.

I had some time to kill so I walked around a few blocks and drank a coffee while I waited for our 9:00 departure.
