This morning I left Cusco early and flew directly to Santiago, Chile on a LATAM flight. I was happy to have found a direct flight and avoid transferring through Lima again.
My wife Diana had flown into Santiago early this morning from Houston, and she met me at the airport. We are flying to Patagonia tomorrow, but we had the evening in Santiago, so we took an Uber from our hotel by the airport into the centre and walked around the Plaza de Armas.
We enjoyed the lively square so much that we found a table to eat dinner at and watch the evening activities. In addition to pedestrians--commuters, tourists, etc.--there were vendors of all sorts, musicians, living statues, street preachers, and a very popular chess club with over a dozen games going on!
