Our driver, Mohammad, got us to Dahab, back on the Red Sea coast, on Saturday around noon. We found an ATM that let me get the cash we needed, and also arranged with him a ride to the airport on Monday morning when we will be leaving Egypt to Istanbul.
Dahab is a diving/resort town, and a very different vibe from Saint Catherine or anywhere else we have been so far on this trip. Our hotel is a little place, owned by a Russian family, called El Primo.
Our room and our balcony looks out over the sea (and to Saudi Arabia on the other side).
It also has a lounge area closer to the water, and you can jump in the sea here with a snorkel and in two or three minutes you are over the most impressive reef I have ever seen!
We have been here two nights, and did nothing in particular except relax and enjoy the view and the heat and the food. Speaking of food, we enjoyed a lovely seafood platter at a restaurant by the sea last night.
Here are some other photos from around Dahab.
