Adventures in Europe: YEG to KEF to ORY to Nice, France

Last night I began a ten day solo trip to France and Morocco.  This trip is the first I have ever done simply because I could not pass up a great airfare deal.  Icelandair from Edmonton to Paris, roundtrip, all taxes included, for just $474 Canadian.  I bought the flight back in July, but didn't really want to go to Paris that much, so I have planned to hop scotch my way down to Morocco, with a stop in the French Riviera first.

I flew from Edmonton at 18:00 yesterday, and, after a short layover and expensive breakfast in Reykjavik airport, arrived at Orly airport in Paris today around 12:00 today.  There I had a bit of a longer layover and cheaper (but less satisfying) lunch and carried on via Air France to Nice.

I got to Nice just before 17:00, or something like 21 hours after I left home yesterday.

I took the bus from the airport into Nice, and got off along the Promande des Anglais, Nice's seafront boulevard.  The sky was overcast, the sun was setting, and it was not warm, but nonetheless I was quite taken with how tremendous a spot it is.

It goes on and on and on.  I realized I had gotten off the bus much too early, but I was not too upset, because it was a pleasant walk, and at one point I sat down on a bench to eat a sandwich.

Eventually I turned north and found my accommodations, the Hotel Wilson.  I checked in, then headed out to try to stay awake as long as I could, walking around and getting a donair for dinner.
